On Tuesday (June 8th, 2021) at 1.38 p.m. on the A3 there was a serious traffic accident in the direction of Würzburg due to heavy rain. As the VPI Aschaffenburg-Hösbach reported in a press release on Wednesday (June 9th, 2021), a driver was on the left of three lanes on the A3 when he suddenly drove into a wall of rain. At the level of Marktheidenfeld the driver skidded on the autobahn, first crashed into a truck driving in the right-hand lane, then hit the guardrail and came to a stop on the right-hand hard shoulder.
