Around 12.30 on Thursday afternoon, the police were notified of a collision between a truck and a car at the intersection Hanasandveien / E39 on Rennesøy in Stavanger municipality.
The accident appears to be serious.

The driver of the car was transported to Stavanger University Hospital by air ambulance, and apparently has serious injuries, the police inform on Twitter.
The driver of the truck is unharmed.
The E39 is blocked in both directions and there are long queues on site. According to Vegtrafikksentralen in Vest, the road will be closed for a while due to the accident.
The police forensic technicians and the Accident Group of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration are on site to carry out investigations.
Detours for passenger cars will take place via Fv. 4616 Sørbøvegen. Heavy transport is transported by ferry from Arsvågen – Mekjarvik.
