A serious traffic accident occurred near Wennemen in the urban area of Meschede. Five people were seriously injured – including three children.
A traffic accident with five injuries, including three children, occurred on Saturday morning near Wennemen in the urban area of Meschede at the L743/L914 intersection near the Kewel tree nursery. Two cars collided there around 3:15 p.m.
Way back from birthday party
Another child was unharmed. According to information from this newspaper, the little ones were on their way back from a birthday party. The five injured people were treated by the volunteer fire brigade and the rescue service and then taken to the surrounding hospitals.

In the accident, large amounts of fuel escaped, some of which ran into the green verges. The fire brigade cleared the debris field and scattered the road with binding agent. The contaminated soil was removed and collected in barrels. The environmental agency was consulted for the disposal.
Several emergency services
A specialist company did the final cleaning of the roadway. The Freiohl extinguishing train, the Wennemen extinguishing group, the police and several rescue services were deployed.
