The police in Innlandet report on Tuesday afternoon a serious traffic accident near Øiang, approx. three miles south of Dombås center in Gudbrandsdalen.
The emergency services are now working on extrication at the site. The extent of the damage is unknown.
A total of three vehicles are said to be involved in the accident.
Karen Sneve was one of those who ended up quite close to the scene of the accident when her car came driving from the north.
– Both the air ambulance, regular ambulance and the police are here, she says.
She says that the wagon train involved in the accident is a lighter vehicle with no particular load, and that it blocked the road completely.
– The road will almost certainly be closed for many hours, she says.
Sneve says that they have now turned on the road, driven onto a local road, and made their way south that way.
E6 will be closed for a long time
The E6 is blocked and, according to the police, will be closed for a long time due to the accident.
Vegtrafikksentralen reports that the detour is via highway 3 Østerdalen for heavy vehicles.
Lighter vehicles must be able to take a local detour. For traffic on E136 traveling southbound, the alternative is to drive up to Hjerkinn via E6 and further via Fv. 29 Folldal v. Rv. 3 Alvdal, the Road Traffic Center reports.
