On Saturday morning, a person was trapped after a collision between a car and a train in the Oslo Opera Tunnel. A total of five people were injured.
According to police, the trapped person received life-saving first aid from paramedics on the spot after being trapped for 20 minutes.
He was taken to Ullevål hospital.
– The other four got out of the car on their own and they too were sent to Ullevål, operations manager Bjørn Gunnar Nysæter told NTB.
There is extensive damage to the car.
– It happened in the eastbound race. We have an overview of the course of events, but we will get a video to get a clear picture of what happened. This section has a lot of cameras, says the operations manager.
– Wrong direction of travel
In an update, police write that the car arrived by driving in the wrong direction in the eastbound exit lane. This resulted in a collision with the caravan.
There were five people in the car and the accident appears to be serious.
Police were notified of the incident at 04:30.
The exit for Mosseveien from the Opera tunnel was closed due to the accident.
The exit to Sørenga was completely closed for a period. Traffic in the Opera Tunnel was adjusted to two-way traffic in a single run.
Shortly before eight, the police report that the road has been cleared and is open to normal traffic.
