From 1 October 2021, all EU citizens, including Bulgarian citizens traveling to the UK, will not be allowed into the UK if they do not have a valid international passport. This was explained by social integration expert Nishan Jingozyan.
“There are several categories to which, if you fall, you will be able to visit the UK with an ID card,” he said.
He clarified that this applies to Bulgarian citizens who have received residency status for EU citizens after Brexit.
“And in the second category there are those who are waiting for it, but have not yet received their permits,” he said. What carries immigration status is a digital application. to prove the new immigration status, “Jingozyan also told Bulgaria ON AIR.
According to him, it is everyone’s responsibility to know how to make the digital application. He explained that the system generates a code that must be sent by e-mail to the institution that requires proof of immigration status.
“Fears are that airlines will find it difficult to navigate when they cannot claim their immigration status from their customers. This will cause turmoil in the first months,” the social integration expert added.

He added that those who have a good reason for missing the deadline can still apply now.
