The serious accident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday 19 September along the road State Highway 131 between San Teodoro and Budoni, near Olbia.

The road remained closed for several hours to allow rescue operations and the restoration of safety conditions. Investigations are underway by the Siniscola traffic police on the dynamics and any responsibilities for the accident.
The collision occurred on a stretch of the state road where one of the two lanes is closed for some work: the two vehicles were traveling on the only open carriageway.
