“Serious errors” and “shortcomings” in the annual accounts: Court of Auditors not kind to public finances

In its Book 2022, the Court of Auditors complained that PSSIs do not send their bills on time. This must be done no later than 30 November of the year following the financial year, but the Court of Auditors had received the accounts for 2020 from only seven institutions by 31 August 2022. For example, the Auxiliary Fund for the health and disability insurance (HZIV) has yet to prepare the accounts for 2019, 2020 and 2021 and the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (RIZIV) has to prepare the accounts for the years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
