Two cars collided on Heikantstraat in Waalre on Friday evening around a quarter past ten. Two people were seriously injured. A car caught fire.
A motorist was overtaking a car on Heikantstraat when another driver also tried to do so and things went wrong.
A car crashed head-on into a tree. It burned out completely. The other car hit a lamppost and then also crashed into a tree.
Before the emergency services arrived, passers-by provided first aid. One of the injured was caught by them and placed in the back seat of a car.
Trauma helicopter
Due to the seriousness of the situation, a trauma helicopter came to Heikantstraat.
One of the two injured people was taken to the hospital in Tilburg, the other to the MMC in Veldhoven.
