The accident was reported shortly after 2 o’clock on national highway 509 in the direction of the airport. It was thick fog when the accident happened.

The one car must have driven in the wrong direction on the road, which is a two-lane motorway with medians. The speed limit in the city is 80 kilometers per hour.

– Seriously

The head of operations in the police, Jostein Reiestad, tells NRK that the accident is serious.

Reiestad does not have an overview of what kind of injuries the four have, but says that an accident at that speed head-on is always serious.’

He says the police will take blood samples from the driver of the car that drove against the direction of travel. The person concerned is among the four who have been taken to hospital.

The westbound lane was closed after the accident. A little after 5 o’clock on Sunday morning, the road was reopened.
