A serious traffic accident happened on Monday, October 25, before ten o’clock in the morning in Mikulovice in the Jesenice region. Two passenger cars collided on the bypass of the village. The wounded was being transported to the hospital by helicopter.
The accident happened at the only traffic light in the district. Three people were injured in the crash, two of whom had to be rescued from the vehicles using hydraulic tools.
“After cutting off the doors on both sides of the car, we got them out on the backbone board and handed them over to the care of the air rescue service,” said Lucie Balážová, a spokeswoman for the Fire and Rescue Service.
Firefighters assisted paramedics and transported the wounded to a helicopter.
“We secured the place of the accident against the occurrence of a fire, we ensured the towing of vehicles on the curb and the escape of fuel. We took care of cleaning the road,” added Lucie Balážová.
