Damien Lewis, best known from the series “Homeland” and “Billions”, leads the cast of the new vampire horror comedy “The Radleys”. Here is the trailer:
The Radleys, including father Peter (Damian Lewis) and Helen (Kelly Macdonald) with their two teenage children, are, at first glance, a completely normal family. After all, they want to appear as boring as possible in order to hide a secret: they are vampires. However, they are different from other bloodsuckers. Peter and Helen have decided to forgo the delicious red juice so as not to have to kill.
They also keep quiet about their son Rowan (Harry Baxendale) why he can’t stand the sun despite using the thickest cream, and about their daughter Clara (Bo Bragason) why every animal flees from her. But when the pubescent children become thirsty for blood, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep the secret and the neighborhood (including Shaun Parkes and “Loki” star Sophia Di Martino) slowly becomes suspicious. After a bloody incident, it’s time to let the children in on the secret, who are initially confused. Then Peter’s eccentric twin brother Will (also Damian Lewis) comes into the picture, who doesn’t believe in abstinence at all and wants to show his nephew and niece what it’s like to be a vampire.
“The Radleys” is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Matt Haig, which was also published in Germany as “Die Radleys”.
