SAN ANTONIO – Four vehicle accidents, which occurred in different sectors of San Antonio, claimed the lives of four people in the same night.
Here is a summary of each case:
Man dies after being run over on South Zarzamora Street
The first fatal crash occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday southwest of the city at 8600 South Zarzamora Street, where a man lying in the middle of the street was struck by two drivers, according to police.
A preliminary police report added that both motorists fled without helping the victim, so they are now wanted by the authorities.
So far, it is unknown why the man was lying on the road and his identity is not known.
Head-on collision at Loop 1604
At about 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, a head-on collision between the drivers of a red truck and a black car was recorded east of San Antonio, at the intersection of Loop 1604 and FM 1346.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed one person was killed in the crash, one person suffered a broken leg and one person was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in unknown condition.
However, the agency did not provide additional details on how the crash occurred and whether anyone could face criminal charges.
Driver dies in crash on Callaghan Road
The third accident took place northwest of the city at 4000 Callaghan Road, near Bandera Road, around 1:30 am Wednesday. There, the driver of a pickup truck traveling southbound lost control on rain-soaked pavement, veering into oncoming lanes and colliding with a utility pole.
The police claimed that the driver was not wearing his seat belt, so he suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene. One passenger was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Choque mortal en Pecan Valley Drive
The latest crash happened around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday southeast of San Antonio at 4900 Pecan Valley Drive, near East Southcross.
Police said the driver of a car lost control on a curve and collided with a pole. He died at the scene, although his identity was not released.
There were no other drivers involved or more victims in this accident.
