The municipality of Almere closes four homes due to a series of explosions. This concerns a house on Kornwierde in Almere Haven where there have already been several incidents and three others that are being closed preventively.
In the night from Thursday to Friday, heavy fireworks went off at the house on Kornwierde. The next day, another explosive device was found at the building. This could be defused by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service. Neighbors had to leave their homes for this.
In addition to this house, buildings in Roemeniëstraat, Moldaviëstraat and Willem Barentzsroute will also close, in the Almere Poort district. Deputy Mayor Bosch does not say in a statement why she is also intervening here.
Explosions also took place in other places in Almere in recent days, such as the Bolacaciahof, the Freyjaplantsoen and the Valetaweg. The police have arrested at least three people, two 16-year-olds and a 33-year-old man from Rotterdam. Additional surveillance cameras have been installed at six locations in the city.
