Series of burglaries in Lower Austria and Vienna clarified: five suspects in custody

First of all, two Romanian citizens aged 40 and 41 were investigated as suspects and arrested on July 1 by Cobra officials after breaking into a kindergarten in Vienna.

In the course of the further investigations, three other Romanian citizens aged 22, 23 and 49 years could be traced. The 23-year-old was also arrested on July 1, the 49-year-old was finally arrested on August 15 in Upper Austria and the 22-year-old on October 21 in Burgenland.

100,000 euros damage

Further searches for a sixth accomplice are ongoing. Overall, the six accused are said to have caused damage of around 100,000 euros in various constellations in their ten burglaries.

Most of the stolen goods were cash and electronic devices such as laptops or cell phones.

The accused were admitted to the Korneuburg, Wels and Eisenstadt prisons.
