London: England won the ODI cricket series against Indian women. England won the series by seven wickets in the third and final match held yesterday.
India won a match in the three ODI series. Beating first yesterday, India scored 122 points for eight wickets. England batted in response and took the win with 10 balls remaining. The winners were Sophia Dunkley (49 out of 44 balls), Alice Kapse (38 not out of 24 balls) and Danny Wyatt (22 out of 23 balls).
Radha Yadav, Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar each took one wicket for India. The best hitters of the Indian formation disappointed. Wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh, who scored 33 points out of 22 balls, Deepti Sharma (24 out of 25 balls), Pooja Vastrakar (19 not out of 11 balls) and 14 extra points given by the English bowlers crossed the double figures. Disappointed Shafali Verma (five), Smriti Mandhana (nine) and heroine Harmanpreet Kaur (five). Sabhineni Meghana and Dayalan Hemalatha failed to score points. India was crushed by Sophie Eccleston who took three wickets for 25 runs in four overs. Sarah Glenn took two wickets while Briony Smith, Freya Davies and EC Wong took one wicket each. Sophie Eccleston was the star of the match.
