Reggiana falls (2-1) in Pisa and temporarily leaves the Tuscans alone at the top of the Serie B standings. Saturday’s feat is by Cremonese who overwhelms Sassuolo in Reggio Emilia (1-4). External blows also by Brescia in Bolzano (1-2 with Sudtirol) and Cittadella in Modena (0-1). Finally, Sampdoria, with 10 men for almost 80 minutes, resists Bari in Marassi (0-0), who also complains about a missed penalty.
PISA-REGGIANA 2-1
Pisa finds its second home win of this season by beating Reggiana 2-1. The Nerazzurri took the lead in the 21st minute with Tramoni launched diagonally by Marin, who, despite Rozzio’s pressing, sent the ball into the goal after touching the far post. Then, at the start of the second half, Inzaghi’s team doubled their lead with Bonfanti, who wrong-footed Bardi with a shot from outside the area. In the final (77th minute) Reggiana reduced the gap with a header by Sersanti on a Maggio corner.
SASSUOLO-CREMONESE 1-4
The Cremonese of ups and downs (two wins and two defeats) plays its best game and wins with a clear 4-1 Reggio, inflicting on Sassuolo their first defeat of the season. In the 20th minute a splendid action in line Collocolo-Johnsen, ball to Nasti who doesn’t miss from two steps. The black-green equalizer comes immediately on a penalty awarded (with VAR) for a handball by Vazquez on a corner: Moro doesn’t miss from the spot. But before the break, Johnsen goes again to the right and crosses for Collocolo who beats Toljan. Then in the 42nd minute again from the right Zanimacchia crosses, Nasti’s header is stopped and Johnsen makes it three on the tap-in. In the second half, Grosso’s team attacks but concedes the poker in the 86th minute on the counterattack, when Castagnetti launches Sernicola who beats Satalino from the edge.
SOUTH TYROL-BRESCIA 1-2
Brescia passes to Druso and chases away the crisis. In the 5th minute there is the dangerous corner kick by Casiraghi that traces the trajectory deflected again into the corner by Lezzerini. Brescia responds immediately with the goal of the advantage scored in the 12th minute by Adorni, who slips the ball past Poluzzi with a header in the bottom corner. The pressure of Sudtirol turns into only a series of corners without any danger for Lezzerini’s goal. At the start of the second half it is Brescia who takes advantage of the indecision between Davi and Ceppitelli, with Corrado who insinuates himself alone in front of Poluzzi and puts the ball in the net for 2-0. In the 37th minute, during a furious scramble in the area, Verreth pushes the ball away with his hand determining the penalty for Sudtirol. From the spot Odogwu shortens the distance but it is not enough to avoid the knockout.
MODENA-CITTADELLA 0-1
After Brescia, Cittadella, in the form of a pirate, also defeated Modena, inflicting their first home defeat on Bisoli’s team. The game was unlocked after just 12 minutes with Ravasio (first goal in Serie B after 12 in Sorrento), who beat Gagno under the crossbar from the right in the area, after an action started by Amatucci and finished by Vita. Before the break, Abiuso put Palumbo in front of Maniero who saved. In the second half, in the 61st minute, on a cross from Cotali, it was Pedro Mendes who forced Maniero to save the ball in the corner. On the following corner, Di Pardo sent it high from a good position. In the 71st minute, Salvi forced Gagno to work, in the 78th minute, Palumbo fired a sure shot in the area, but Maniero once again saved the victory with his feet.
SAMPDORIA-BARI 0-0
With a numerical advantage for almost 80 minutes, Bari failed to overcome Sampdoria at Marassi. Andrea Sottil breathed a sigh of relief as he marked his debut on the Blucerchiati bench with a point. The new Doria coach chose 3-4-1-2 with Benedetti behind Tutino and Coda but things immediately got complicated. A goal was disallowed for Lasagna in the 6th minute, De Paoli hit the post in the 9th minute on an assist from Tutino. Then Vulikic was sent off in the 13th minute for a foul on Lasagna who was running towards goal.
