Two goals in the first half allow the red and white to conquer the Allianz Stradium
Il Monza get over her Juve 2-0 in Turin with two goals in the first half. The advantage arrives in the 18th minute thanks to Currieserved very well by Machin, while the doubling bears the signature of Dany Mota, able to take advantage of the assist from Carlos Augusto. In the second half Allegri sends on the field Owned by e Vlahovic but that’s not enough: Juventus clashed with the goalkeeper from Monza By Gregory who saves on more than one occasion on Juventus attempts.
THE MATCH
Juve almost immediately renounced the high pressure in the start of the red and white action and Monza managed to manage possession by fielding two midfielders, Pessina and Caprari, whose movement sent the black and white defense into crisis. The first alternates raids on the trocar with returns that “even out” the number of opposing midfielders, the second positions himself on the centre-left and transforms into second striker when necessary. Just a combination between the two leads, after ten minutes, to Caprari’s goal canceled due to a millimetric offside by the player from Monza. Juve relies on Kean, sole striker, accompanied by Di Maria, and by the insertions of midfielders. And it was the Juventus striker who came close to taking the lead with a shot from outside. The rotations and triangulations of Palladino’s team, however, made the hosts suffer. The proof comes when Machin catches the insertion of Ciurria in the area for the red and white advantage. Juve continued to give possession to their opponents and made themselves dangerous with set pieces, as in the case of Gatti’s turn in a corner kick. Monza continues to grind its game and doubles up with Dany Mota caught big by Carlos Augusto.
At the beginning of the second half, Allegri sends Soulé, Iling jr and Locatelli onto the field and switches to a hyper-offensive 4-4-2 with the former on the wings, the former Sassuolo in the middle with Rabiot, and Danilo as a left winger in defense (who then reverses the position with De Sciglio). Juve came close to scoring on developments from a corner before Allegri tried to give a further shock with the introduction of Milik in place of Kean, who partnered up front with Di Maria, author of the assist for the dangerous turn of Locatelli saved by Di Gregorio. Allegri tries a new tactic with the entry of Vlahovic in place of De Sciglio and the transition to a 3-4-3. Juve begins to push seriously: first Milik commits Di Gregorio, then Ciurria manages to deflect a shot from Fideo who, shortly after, becomes the protagonist of a very violent conclusion saved by the Brianza goalkeeper. Juve’s assault also leads to Bremer’s goal, disallowed for offside. Monza nearly scored the third goal with newcomer Petagna, who commits Szczesny, legitimizing the victory of the guests who take away another satisfaction: that of overcoming Juve in the standings, as well as having beaten them twice in the league.
REPORT CARDS
DeSciglio 4 – Carlos Augusto suffers a lot on his side. It didn’t seem like a great idea to field him as a new starter.
Paredes 4,5 – He never manages to organize the maneuver. Allegri takes it off already at the beginning of the second half.
Kostic 4 – Ciurria makes good and bad times on his side. It is no coincidence that he too leaves the field after the first half.
Gregory’s 7.5 – He keeps Monza alive when Juve starts pushing and building dangerous goalscoring actions.
Charles Augustus 7 – Dominate the left flank, whoever his opponent is. The assist for doubling is memorable.
Circuit 7 – Read under Carlos Augusto entry, only on the other side. In addition, he realizes the splendid goal of the guest advantage.
