If we borrow one of his phrases, used quite inappropriately these days – Plevneliev is the Triumphal Arch of Bulgarian contentment.
In the picture you see here, he is not only happy, he is downright happy and on the verge of tears.
Next to him, Metodi Andreev has already broken his hair.
Be careful – you don’t cry too.
These are happy people who have obviously fulfilled their life’s mission.
One would think that Bulgaria had just taken some giant step and flown straight to Heaven.
From the text below the photo, however, we understand something completely different: Plevneliev joined the petition for the study of totalitarian regimes in the 20th century in history textbooks.

This is already the past: communism is in the textbooks, studied in the 6th and 10th grades.
And, according to serious observers, it is presented relatively objectively and balanced.

However, this historic victory reminds us of a trifle.
Some time ago, Plevneliev suddenly called Zhivkov a “liar.”
But then he appointed Prof. Bliznashki as his acting prime minister – an adviser to the same Zhivkov, who still claims that communism was the most beautiful ideal of humanity.
Zhivkov is a liar – however, it was his adviser who was chosen by Plevneliev as acting prime minister.

What connects Bliznashki, who is redder than Bolshevik Russia, with Plevneliev, who constantly puts on a democratic foundation to hide his red bachelor pimples – what interest connects these two?
Who can tell you.

If I had the mind of the late anti-communist Plevneliev, I could say: “In Bulgaria, the “communists” keep arguing with each other, and in the end they head democratic governments.”

And another thing we can ask ourselves: doesn’t Plevneliev amnesty himself – when he gathers with advisers of liars?

On top of everything, just when Plevneliev was hugging the “crystal communist” Bliznashki, the newspaper “168 Chasa” published the touching confession of the son of Georgi Zarkin, brutally murdered in 1977 by the DS in the Pazardzhik prison.
This story is well known.
The new thing is that the relatives of the victim, as well as several organizations, have been persistently insisting for a long time that President Plevneliev should award the highest state award to Zarkin – one of the ten officially recognized Bulgarian dissidents.
But he still had no time left.

Three years have passed since then.
Plevneliev is already considered the Triumphal Arch of late Bulgarian anti-communism.
