Serhii Marchenko spoke about cooperation with the IMF and the priorities of Ukraine’s recovery in 2023 – Government Courier

Thanks to the recently approved program of expanded IMF financing for Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance has more confidence in financing the budget deficit this year. This was said by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, in an interview for CNN. It is reported Government portal.

The Minister of Finance also spoke about additional financial needs for rapid recovery in 2023: “This year, we plan to implement urgent recovery, which is estimated at 14.1 billion US dollars. Priority directions are restoration of energy infrastructure, humanitarian demining, restoration of damaged housing, critical and social infrastructure, as well as support to the private sector.”

At the same time, Serhiy Marchenko added that in addition to the efforts of the Ukrainian Government and international donors, it is important that foreign businesses invest in Ukraine, thereby supporting the recovery and development of the country’s economy.

The Minister of Finance also emphasized that he expects long-term and strong cooperation with international partners to speed up the victory in the war, because the loss of Ukraine will mean the loss of the entire civilized world.
