Italian Sergio Scariolo won two Olympic medals with Spain (silver at London 2021 and bronze at Rio 2016), a World Cup gold medal (China 2019) and five European medals (four gold and one bronze) in the two stages at the head of the national team (2009-2012 and 2015 to the present).
For his part, Miguel Méndez took office in 2021 replacing Lucas Mondelo and won silver at EuroBasket 2023, in which the Spanish team lost in the final against Belgium, and in February obtained the ticket for Paris’2024 during the pre-Olympics.
