Sergio Perez Uncertain Future at Red Bull: Will He Stay Beyond 2024?

Sergio Pérez is currently one of the closely watched men in the starting field. The Mexican has been falling short of expectations for some time now, and his stay at Red Bull is more than uncertain. However, the native of Guadalajara believes that the upcoming season will be carried in a more positive spirit than the previous one and hopes to remain in Milton Keynes beyond the end of 2024.

While last year Pérez loudly proclaimed that he intends to win the championship title, before the start of the current year he has much more modest goals. The 34-year-old rider seems to have come to terms with his position and instead of looking ahead and making bold decisions, he prefers to guard the back door.

With that, a new, younger and especially faster driver could slip into Red Bull in the foreseeable future, replacing Pérez. However, the winner of six major prizes will do everything to prevent something like that from happening and believes that he will eventually force the “red bulls” to keep him.

“I work in a great team. It’s amazing to be part of the Red Bull family. We’ll see what the future brings,” he spoke out Sergio Perezwhose words he quotes RacingNews365.com. “For now, I am fully focused on the beginning of the year. Ideally, I will continue to drive for this team in the years to come.”

Pérez entered last season as a big water. He won two of the first four events and was an equal opponent to Max Verstappen. However, instead of fully concentrating on his performances, he began to proclaim at the top of his lungs that he intended to become a world champion. And that was a mistake.

The Dutchman was motivated by the Mexican’s words to perform better, and now the three-time champion has taken his teammate literally and figuratively on his hooves. “Checo”, as the driver’s nickname sounds, has learned from the debacle, is brimming with modesty ahead of the upcoming season and is not setting any grandiose goals.

“I expect a busy start to the season,” he noted Pérez. “My aim will be to focus on the first few races. I’m not going to set any deadlines or anything like that. Initially, I just want to focus on the first five races and get the most out of them. I think they will take a lot of energy out of me, so I don’t want to be distracted by what comes next.” the Red Bull pilot explained.
