The Cuenca runner Sergio Mena, who is still in the United States, a country where he is living a second stage of his life, has once again triumphed in a race there. After having previously spent a few years studying and then working, he returned to Spain but after residing for a time in Andalusia he decided to return to the American country.
And there he continues to win races, this time he was proclaimed winner of the Fort Worth Half Marathon in Texas this past Saturday.
Last April, after a period of adaptation and return to training, Sergio already won the Texas Big Star Half Marathon, showing that he was back in shape as he crossed the finish line in a time of 1:08: 23.
Now, in the Fort Worth half marathon he arrived with no expectations at all, as he himself assures, and ended with a spectacular result, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:07:52.
This was the first race of the season for him. In December he will run the Dallas half marathon and in just over two months he hopes to be in the Houston Half half marathon, a great goal he has in mind.
Sergio assures that the sensations in the Fort Worth race were unbeatable since he was able to win with ease and enjoy every kilometer traveled. And this becomes more important due to the fact that he considers that he is not training at a high level as he could in the past because he is prioritizing his work, with new responsibilities, since he got a promotion so it is crucial for him to adapt the training every day. training and try to be as consistent as possible. But it is clear that we already have all the time that would be desirable to dedicate to athletics. Even so, it is evident that Sergio continues to have a great enthusiasm for this sport and, by juggling a lot, he tries to stay there, fighting to do the best possible. And I’m sure this great athlete from Cuenca will have plenty of rope left for a while.
