Sergio Massa receives the union centers to define the decline in Profits | This Monday there will be mobilization of the CGT and the CTA in support of the candidate

Sergio Massa This Monday he will receive the main leaders of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) and the Central Workers of Argentina (CTA) to advance the measure aimed at stopping the majority of workers from paying income tax. The meeting at the Ministry of Economy will begin at 5 in the afternoon and will be accompanied, on the street, with a mobilization of support from the unions. The unions called to gather in the Plaza de Mayo from 4:30 p.m., with the idea that the peak of the mobilization would occur at 6:00 p.m.

Inside the Economy, along with Massa, the Minister of Labor, Raquel “Kelly” Olmos, will participate in the conversations. Among the union representatives were summoned Hector Daer, Hugo Moyano, Carlos Acuna, Sergio Palazzo, Guillermo Moser y Hugo Yaskyamong others.

With the lowering of the floor of this tax, Massa aims to make concrete an old demand that the union centers summarize in the slogan “Salary is no earning”. But in addition, he will continue to outline a campaign agenda to establish himself as the candidate who can best defend the income of the middle class and the popular sectors, with concrete measures. His main counterpoint is with Javier Milei.

On Saturday, the UP candidate launched the second leg of his campaign focused on polarizing with the ultraliberal ideas of the economist, for whom the concept of social justice “is an aberration” and the State an enemy to be destroyed.

In the Treasury Palace they assure that The minister’s decision is to raise the amount of the minimum non-taxable earnings significantly above the current figure. Currently, workers with salaries greater than 700,875 pesos pay the tax, who contribute between 5% and 35% of their income, as they go up the scale.

The non-taxable minimum, some sources indicate, would now be $2,000,000. The exact figure is not confirmed, but the change will seek to stop the majority of workers from paying this tax.

The massist weekend agenda was full of gestures in defense of social justice. This Sunday he visited the School and the Nuestra Señora de Caacupé Parish, in Villa 21-24 of Barracas, where held a meeting with priests from towns and popular neighborhoods of Buenos Aires to analyze the social situation and work on measures for vulnerable sectors.

And on Saturday he was in Tucumán where, accompanied by 13 governors, many of the provinces in which Milei obtained his primacy, he made a commitment with the northern provinces about improving co-participation – which Milei wants to eliminate. “They propose cutting off the co-participation of the provinces, they say that each province has to deal with its own issues. That is called dissolution of the country.”the UP candidate instead stated.

On the other hand, he made several references to the IMF and showed himself to be the only one of the presidential candidates who can put a stop to the voracity of the international credit organization: “One of the big fights we had with the Fund was over the retirement moratorium because the agreement provided that there could be no more moratoriums. And the truth is that between the retirees and the Fund, I chose the retirees”held.

From Tucumán to the Ballotage

The repercussions of the Tucumán act lasted until Sunday. Julian Dominguezspokesperson for the Unión por la Patria (UxP) campaign and link with the agro-industrial productive sector, considered that UxP has to “go out and convey to the people that this October 22 we vote whether we move towards the future with Massa or go to the abyss with Milei’s chainsaw.”

“When (Milei) talks about the chainsaw it is one of the most graphic images of what he wants to do with the Argentines, that half of them will die of hunger, because the chainsaw plan is exclusion,” added the former Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing of the Nation.

Regarding the objectives in this period of the campaign, Domínguez specified that for the ruling party “it is a stage of dissemination, discussion and debate to generate awareness of what is at stake,” because “the opposition is not going to argue because they are inconsistent, “They say one nonsense after another that not even they can sustain.”

“Milei’s proposal for dollarization is a clear example. They say one thing and then say another or that it is not for now. They have countless proposals that are attractive slogans that quickly dissolve when one questions them. Therefore, we must warn that the proposals they formulate lead Argentine society not to a crack, but rather to an abyss,” warned Domínguez.

Another of those who referred to the campaign was Agustín Rossi. The chief of staff and candidate for vice president of UP was optimistic and maintained that Massa’s proposals are being received. “We feel that there is a recovery, that our message is reaching more and more throughout Argentine society,” he said.
