The adventure is over Sergio Aguero of Manchester City. As is widely reported, Aguero has officially joined Barcelona.
The Catalan club announced the transfer of Aguero on Monday (31/5/2021) night WIB. Aguero was brought in for free after his contract at City expired on 1 July.
Aguero signed a two-year contract until June 2023. Reportedly, Aguero’s salary has been cut by 50 percent of what he earned at City.
In an official statement, Barcelona also said that Aguero’s contract clause was worth 100 million euros. Aguero will be officially introduced starting at 18.15 local time or 23.15 WIB.
Sergio Aguero will be Barcelona’s first signing of the summer. It is estimated that Memphis Depay, Gini Wijnaldum and Eric Garcia will follow on a free transfer.
Aguero has played for Manchester City since 2011 with 260 goals in 390 appearances. Sergio Aguero awarded five Premier League titles, one FA Cup title, six English League Cup titles and three Community Shields.
Unfortunately, the end of Aguero’s career at City was not good because his team lost 0-1 to Chelsea in the Champions League final last weekend. Sergio Aguero appeared in the last 15 minutes of the game replacing Raheem Sterling.
