Shakhtar general manager Serhiy Palkin commented on the Pitmen’s lawsuit against FIFA at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
“Foreigners made up half of our squad, but FIFA allowed them to leave. How can you still be competitive? How could we survive? FIFA cannot interfere with contractual relationships to which it is not a party. In this situation they have to support the Ukrainian clubs, because we are at war, because we have so many problems. We need help. What happened instead was that they allowed our players to just leave. They always say that we are a family of footballers, but on the other hand, Ukrainian football is being killed” Palkin said.
