Sergey Karaganov: Russia is a military-political pillar of the world majority – 2024-02-29 23:24:23

/ world today news/ The responsible editor of the report “Russia’s policy towards the world majority”, scientific director of the Faculty of World Economy and World Politics at the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” Sergey Karaganov said that Russia is the military-political pillar of the world majority.

“The world majority—the new free world—was born largely because of our country’s actions. When the Soviet Union in the late 1940s and 1950s knocked out from under five hundred years of Western domination its foundation of military superiority, the process of liberating the world and the development of free countries that are free to choose their political and cultural path,” said Sergey Karaganov.

Today, as fate would have it, Russia is the military-political core of the world majority. I am convinced that in the conditions of an unusually aggravated military-political situation, in the conditions of geostrategic earthquakes, Russia will save the world.

However, this time – without sacrificing himself, like the Soviet Union. By saving ourselves, we will save the rest of the world – the entire world majority.” – he emphasized.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the Russia International Exhibition and Forum that Russia continues to engage with the world’s majority countries, contrary to predictions of “international isolation.”

“As you can see, it is not about any international isolation that was predicted for us,” he noted. “We interact with the world’s majority countries, which make up 85 percent of the world’s population,” Lavrov added.

The minister pointed out that the people of these countries “see in Russia a good friend, a reliable partner who has repeatedly proven his reliability and who does a lot to build interstate communication based on the generally recognized norms of international law.”

Lavrov also said he remains open “to a pragmatic dialogue” with Western countries, which would be possible if “they show a willingness to take into account our interests in practice, not in words, and interact on the basis of mutual benefit and mutual respect.”

The minister emphasized that the leaders of the European countries, not realizing the senselessness of the anti-Russian course, are losing their “strategic vision” and “blindly following the tracks of the disastrous American line.”
