Serge Müller: From FC Schaffhausen to SC Freiburg II – A Rising Star’s Journey

It is both a blessing for the deserved central defender and a curse for FC Schaffhausen. For Serge Müller, who spent four years in Schaffhausen, it is the logical, overdue step to face higher tasks in football. From talent to personality during 143 competitive games (135 MS/8 Cup), he not only became a perennial favorite in the Challenge League, but also an absolute identification figure for the yellow and black team. The tough defender scored 15 goals, most of them from the penalty spot.

For FC Schaffhausen, however, Müller’s departure is a bitter loss. President Roland Klein also describes this transfer with mixed feelings: “With Serge we are losing our captain and an important team member on and off the field. At the same time, I am also proud of its development over the past four years. I am very pleased that he is now being rewarded for his diligence and commitment with a transfer abroad. » And Serge Müller is now moving there with immediate effect. SC Freiburg is the ideal club for him, especially since the second team, a U23 team that won Germany’s 3rd division last season, will be motivation enough. There, under the Schaffhausen coach Thomas Stamm, Serge Müller has the chance to even recommend himself for the 1st Bundesliga.

SC Freiburg II’s first competitive game takes place on Sunday, August 6th at home against MSV Duisburg. Then hopefully with Serge Müller on the pitch. He is almost not used to anything else as a long-running hit.
