The Virtus of Bologna would be very interested in closing the hiring of Serge Ibaka for the next basketball course 2022-23, reported the newspaper Tuttosport.
Ibaka will be an unrestricted free agent starting in July after completing the final year of his contract valued at $9.7 million. The Congolese midfielder has finished the season with the Milwaukee Bucks where he has obtained a record 7 points and 5.3 rebounds in 17.8 minutes per game.
Of finally reaching a deal with the Italian set, there he could match up with other former NBA players, such as Nico Mannion, Marco Belinelli, Ekpe Udoh or Milos Teodosić.
Serge Ibaka, 32, landed in the NBA through the 24th pick in the 2008 Draft, being selected by the extinct Seattle Supersonics. After passing through the ranks of L’Hospitalet and Manresa, in 2009 he began his journey to the United States to join the renamed Oklahoma City Thunder.
After spending seven years in OKC, he has also played for the Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors where he was NBA champion, Los Angeles Clippers and a last stop in Milwaukee.
His career averages have been 12.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks in 903 official games.
