Serena Williams Responds To Skin Bleaching Allegations (VIDEO)

Serena Williams Addresses Skin-Bleaching Rumors Head-On

Tennis legend Serena Williams hasn’t stayed silent amidst online chatter accusing her of skin bleaching. In a recent video clip circulating online, the athlete directly confronted the rumors with a blunt and defiant response.

The video, captured by Live Bitez, shows Williams explaining the science behind suntans, clearly challenging the accusations levelled against her. With a bit of sass, she pointedly states, "For you haters out there. I do not bleach my skin. There is a thing called sunlight, and in that sunlight, you get different colors."

Williams didn’t mince words, labeling the speculation "ridiculous" and attributing the fluctuations in her complexion to factors such as lighting in photographs and theatrical makeup worn during her daughter’s school play.

"I’m a dark black woman, and I love who I am, and I love how I look, and that’s just not my thing," Williams declared. "And if people do it that’s their thing and they have every opportunity and they should. I don’t judge, but you guys do. But that’s what this world is about and I stay in my lane, the non-judgy one…but no I actually don’t bleach my skin. So, can we just kinda clear that up,” she added.

Meanwhile, away from the online frenzy, Williams has been supporting her husband, Alexis Ohanian, through a health scare. Just before Thanksgiving, the 41-year-old revealed on Instagram that he underwent surgery to remove half of his thyroid due to suspicious nodules. Thankfully, the procedure went smoothly and tests confirmed that the removed nodules were indeed likely cancerous, prompting Ohanian’s decision to prioritize his health.

Sharing the news alongside photos of himself with their daughters at Disney World, Ohanian wrote, " I wasn’t gonna take any chances; the surgery was smooth and I’m extra grateful this Thanksgiving because I got the call this morning that my now-removed-half-of-thyroid was indeed full of some gnarly nodules that were very likely to become cancerous"

He concluded the post with an encouraging message for other dads, emphasizing the importance of proactively managing their health.
