Serena Williams’ ex-coach is full of praise for Roger Federer

Legendary tennis coach Rick Macci thinks there’s no one better as a role model than Roger Federer. Macci, one of the first coaches to work with Serena and Venus Williams, recently uploaded a video to his YouTube channel, in which he opens up about what he thinks of Federer.

Federer, a 20-time Grand Slam champion, is one of the greatest players in tennis history and he has been widely credited with taking tennis to another level. Federer is considered by many to be a classy player and the best possible ambassador for the game.

“Let’s talk about this player right there,” Macci said, pointing to Federer’s poster, according to Sportskeeda. “In my opinion… the best player of all time as a role model”

Macci on what makes Federer special

“We talk about speed, quickness, balance, agility, fluidity. But above all, temperament. He makes mistakes, you can’t even tell that something has happened,” added Macci.

“I don’t talk so much about the mechanical part, although his forehand is more than amazing. His forehand is biomechanically unreal. But watch how he reacts after every point.

As if nothing had happened. He’s one of the greatest players of all time, Fed.” If you have a kid who dreams of one day becoming a professional, show them clips of Federer’s games, Macci says.

“He’s been the leader in the clubhouse and to do that from a young age is incredible,” Macci added. “If you want your child to improve, make him watch Federer”

Meanwhile, Federer is still recovering from knee surgery he underwent last August. Federer will definitely not return during the clay season and his return during the grass season is also unlikely.

There is a chance that we can see Federer during the North American tour. Federer has already signed to play in the Laver Cup, which will take place at the end of September.
