Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke with the Russian ambassador in Belgrade, Aleksandar Botsan-Kharchenko, about the latest negotiations in Brussels and the situation in Kosovo, indicating that any recognition of Kosovo’s independence is unacceptable for Serbia, the “Danas” newspaper reports.

As stated in a statement from the president’s office, Vucic stressed that Serbia remains committed to preserving peace and stability while the authorities in Pristina continue their daily persecution of the Serbian population, especially in the northern part of Kosovo, resulting in the ethnic cleansing of the Serbian people. .

Vucic reiterated that any recognition of Kosovo’s unilaterally declared independence is not acceptable to Serbia, as it is firmly committed to observing international law and preserving its national and state interests.

Vucic and Botsan-Kharchenko indicated that it is essential to form a Union of Serbian Municipalities in Kosovo. Vucic expressed his gratitude for Russia’s consistent support for Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty at the UN and other international forums, the statement added.
