A Serbian mercenary makes serious allegations against Russia in a video. His criticism is primarily directed at the treatment of foreign soldiers.
Frankfurt – Russia has called in foreign soldiers to reinforce the war in Ukraine. However, they are said to be treated badly and disparagingly by the Russian military. A Serbian mercenary has now made this accusation in a published video. He criticized his compatriots being discriminated against.
We’re talking about Dejan Berić, who was a sniper himself and was present during the invasion of Crimea almost ten years ago. In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), he complained about the behavior of Russian soldiers. He received the information from Serbian mercenaries who work in the special unit “Wolf”.
Ukraine War: Serbian mercenary complains about Russian military via video
He sits in an apartment and discusses the problems openly. Berić’s compatriots from the 119th Parachute Brigade told him that they were “treated like cattle” and called “gypsies.” He also explained in the video circulating on X that the Serbian mercenaries would be sent to the front without enough ammunition. They will probably be told to capture the enemy’s weapons.
Not only ammunition and weapons are a problem, the uniform also leads to injustice because the Serbs are supposed to pay for their war clothing themselves. They also have to buy water out of their own pocket. Berić explained that he called on the Russian military and the Chechen government leaders to transfer the Serbian soldiers to the Akhmat command. But he encountered resistance.

Dejan Berić is celebrated as a war hero in Russia
The Serbian mercenary Berić is not unknown in Russia. He has already made several appearances and often spread Russian propaganda. He has also received several awards after his missions in Donbass in 2014 and is celebrated as a war hero in Russia.
Berić is said to have suffered a wound in 2018. He is now active again on Russia’s side in the war against Ukraine. But his job takes place away from the front, because he recruits mercenaries. (Denise Dörries)
