Lawsuits in Croatia after mayor cancels folk concerts in resort town, Danas reported.

This is the mayor of Pula, Filip Zoricic. During those days, there were supposed to be concerts by Serbian artists Ana Bekuta and Dragan Koic Keba.

However, the mayor canceled the concerts, declaring that this type of music did not suit his city and added that he would not allow such events while in office. Instead, he has entered into negotiations with concerts by Robbie Williams and Eros Ramazzotti.

This led to action by event organizers. They filed a complaint against the manager of the hall where the concerts were to be held.

They are demanding an interim solution to allow the concert to go ahead as planned, after which they will not demand additional compensation. At this stage, the complaint has not been accepted, but they will probably file a second one.

Croatia’s head of state, Zoran Plenkovic, has announced that he also dislikes such music, but refrains from endorsing such actions towards cultural events.
