A 32-year-old Serb and his 35-year-old partner got into trouble when they used fake IDs to get a loan for a Porsche and money from a bank.
The Serbian couple had to answer in court in Innsbruck. Despite unemployment and high debts, the couple, who are part of a blended family of seven, wanted to buy a luxurious vehicle.
Fake proof of income
Knowing that they did not have sufficient credit for a loan, the couple obtained fake ID and proof of income and took them to a car dealership. There they decided on one Porsche Cayenne worth about 42,000 euros. When asked by the judge whether it really had to be such a luxury car, the defendants just shrugged their shoulders and emphasized that they wanted to pay off the installments and not harm anyone.
blackmail
The couple said they were blackmailed by men who got them fake IDs. The blackmailers demanded that the couple take out two additional loans of 20,000 euros each. Half of the money should go to the blackmailers, while the 32-year-old wanted to use the rest to finance a new life in Thiersee.
