Şerban Bubenek, president of the Romanian Association of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, said Thursday, on Digi24, that the two doctors from St. Pantelimon was accused of premeditated murder and that they acted correctly in relation to the patient who eventually died in the hospital. According to Şerban Bubenek, who cites “scientific evidence”, high doses of noradrenaline cannot be given for a long time, but should be brought back to regular doses in patients with low blood pressure.

“It is not a question of interruption (noradrenaline treatment in the case of the deceased patient – no). The mammoth doses, recorded in that document, of 15 ml/hour, 20 ml/hour, are said to be mammoth doses, because from the reports and data there that They have an average blood pressure of 3o to 45 mm of mercury. full days column. That is, their blood was not circulating through them almost at all, and there was no way to oxygenate them.

The doctor says the law needs to be changed so that prosecutors can contact medical experts in such cases.

“For this reason, we regret that the Romanian legislation does not have the presence of medical experts certified by the judicial system, trained by colleagues, prosecutors, lawyers, to put knowledge on the side of -within the reach of those who carry out these follow-up actions – right, from a legal point of view, but cannot compare murder with a knife or ax to what happens in an intensive care unit, where people die.

Unfortunately, ATI has the highest mortality rate in the world. Perhaps it is time that Romanian legislation must face these challenges – it is a challenge that causes damage in society, that causes the reduction of the medical group, that causes fear of the sick. These things must be discussed properly,” said Şerban Bubenek.

He insisted, in his opinion, that the two doctors at the Pantelimon Hospital cannot be accused of murder beforehand.

“In this particular case, just in this particular case, there is an explanation – in my opinion, with a little experience of 40 years of intensive care – there is a misinterpretation, perhaps not coming from a bad will, coming from nothing but nothing. with knowledge of the state of shock – they are doctors who study all their lives -, and our two colleagues are young people, who have European diplomas in anesthesia (…). It is not a question of poorly trained colleagues, they are peaks that the Roman society cannot anathema and punish before they speak badly, on real and scientific bases. (…)
