Serang (ANTARA) – The Serang City Health Service (Dinkes) urges the public to be aware of the potential for dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) during the rainy season in the region.
“DHF needs to be watched out. For its own spread, dengue fever usually spreads in densely populated areas, poor drainage and in urban areas,” said Head of Section (Kasi) Contagious Disease Control and Eradication (P2PM) Serang City Health Office Muhammad Affan in Serang, Friday.

To prevent them from the threat of the disease, he said, the community must maintain a clean environment so that there is no possibility of stagnant water that could emerge Aedes aegpty mosquito larvae, the cause of dengue fever.
“Of course we have to maintain cleanliness around, such as cleaning the place that is a mosquito nest, cleaning the bath so that mosquito larvae do not appear, then burying the rubbish around it,” he said.
There are 251 cases of dengue fever in Serang City from January to October 2020, while the death toll from the disease is four.
“This year there is an increase in cases of dengue fever, although not too much compared to previous years,” he said.
In the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic, his party is also working to reduce dengue fever.
“With the one house one jumantik movement program, we will empower the family. In the past, only cadres and officers were involved,” said Affan.
