SER Málaga presents the ‘Nazareno of the Year’ awards | BE Malaga | Hour 14 Malaga

The ‘Nazareno of the Year’ awards granted by SER Málaga have been awarded this Thursday, May 27, at the headquarters of the Association of Brotherhoods in the Malaga capital.

The awards have gone, in the case of the Malaga capital, for the embroiderer Joaquín Salcedo, for his professional career and the culmination of the pallium of the Virgin of the Trinidad of the brotherhood of the Captive in 2019, with the embroidery of the backstage. SER listeners gave this candidacy 61.14% of the votes.

Special mention for Commission of the Risen of the Association of Brotherhoods of Holy Week in Malaga. For the premiere of a new throne for Christ, a work in which some thirty artists and craftsmen have worked under the design of Fernando Prini. He obtained 38.75% of the votes from the audience of BE Malaga.

Regarding the province’s ‘Nazarene of the Year’, with 72.66% of the votes it fell to the Passion of Alozaina for having spent 32 years staging the Passion of Christ in a special and different way. Every year the residents of the municipality consecrate this representation to a current issue through their texts and make it singular and unique in the province.

The special mention of the province will go to Holy Week in Frigiliana, for the solemnity and charm of its processions. The beautiful streets of the municipality welcome the tragic sense of the passion and death of Jesus, with Good Friday being one of the most special moments the passage of the Virgin of Solitude that brings together thousands of people under the light of the candles. This candidacy obtained 27.34% of the votes counted.

Two special nominations out of competition were also established:

To Juan Rosén, Malaga master embroiderer and a national benchmark in Holy Week. For a lifetime devoted to work and her unconditional love for the brotherhoods of Malaga, especially the Cristo de los Gitanos and the Virgen de la O.

The Café Santa Cristina, for always being with Holy Week and the traditions of Malaga.
