Culture is one of the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The virus has brought to a halt the sector that represents 2.3% of the Gross Domestic Product of the Canary Islands and that in 2019 employed more than 36,000 people, 3.5% of the employment of the islands.
To capture the difficulties and opportunities of culture, SER Las Palmas will hold a special program this Thursday from the Atlantic Center of Modern Art in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. From 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 6:20 p.m. to 6:40 p.m., the radio programs will be carried out from the CAAM to give a voice to the protagonists of the sector who will be able to speak about the generalized drop in visitors to museums, the strong reluctance among various sectors of the population to visit exhibitions or participate in cultural activities in closed spaces for fear of contagion and requests or solutions they propose.
