AnTuTu shared the iOS device performance list for September. iPad Pro models took the first three places on the list.
The top three on the list were iPad Pro models with desktop-class M-series processors.
However, iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro found themselves in ninth and tenth place on the list, respectively, thanks to their A18 Pro chips.
iPhone 16 Pro Max received an average score of 1,669,791, while iPhone 16 Pro earned 1,665,128 points.
The A18 PRO closes to M1
The performance of the A18 Pro chip is close to the M1 desktop processor. Of course, mobile devices are not expected to perform the same as desktop processors due to limitations such as power consumption and battery life.
However, even the fact that the A18 Pro comes so close to the M1 is considered a great success.
At this stage of development, it is estimated that the A19 Pro chip, which is expected to be released next year, can surpass the performance of the M1. This could mean that mobile devices are reaching the performance level of desktop computers.
