“I would like to salute the work of the firefighters who, that day, gave their all. My thoughts are with the families who still suffer from the loss of a father, a husband, a brother, a son, and I would like to acknowledge the courage and dedication of the firefighters of the City of Montreal who crossed the border for go and lend a hand, ”said M^me Plant.

As part of a commemorative event organized by the Montreal Fire Department (SIM), a memorial created by the engraver artist Claude Desmarais, with 343 engraved stars, was unveiled.

This memorial is placed on a display unit, designed by cabinetmaker Guy Labelle, which also houses a structural part from one of the twin towers.
