The 29-year-old lawyer who was arrested in the center of Athens for drug trafficking is being sent to prison after her today’s apology in the courts of the former Evelpidon school.
The 29-year-old accused, according to information, denied the accusations with an apologetic note, but was not convinced and was temporarily detained.
Cocaine and precision scales
The lawyer was arrested in Sepolia, when ELAS, in the context of investigating information concerning her activity in drug trafficking, found in her car 40 improvised nylon packages with 33.8 grams of cocaine and a precision scale.
According to information, the Narcotics Prosecution had information about the 29-year-old’s activity in cocaine trafficking, and after using the information, they managed to catch her in the act shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday at the junction of Sepolio and Agios Meletios streets in Athens.
However, she denies the accusations. At first she allegedly stated that the drugs were for her personal use and then claimed to the officers that she did not know how the drugs were found in the car, implying that someone else had hidden them there.
What the Police say
In the announcement of EL.AS. stated the following:
“A 29-year-old local accused of violating the legislation on addictive substances was arrested in the early hours of today (14-8-2024) in the area of Kolonos, by police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate.
In the context of actions of the above Service, for the arrest of drug dealers-traffickers and after investigating information regarding the action of the accused in drug trafficking, the 29-year-old was identified and her criminal activity was certified.
In particular, the above police officers spotted the 29-year-old woman driving a vehicle in an area of the center of Athens and carried out a check, in the context of which they found and confiscated carefully hidden inside it and confiscated:
-40- improvised nylon packages containing -33.8- gr. cocaine and
precision scale.
The arrested woman was taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens”.
“He is not a ND member”
The case also took on political features with ND sources refuting reports on social media and publications on websites that the 29-year-old has a relationship with the New Democracy party.
“We categorically deny slanderous reports and vile posts on social media, which state that a lawyer who was arrested for drug trafficking is related to our party. The arrested person has nothing to do with New Democracy and has never been a member of it,” they report.
“We reserve every legal right against the spread of false news aimed at harming ND,” the same sources emphasize.
