SEPE-USET signs agreement with Siemens Stiftung Foundation to strengthen STEM education in Tlaxcala

SEPE-USET sign an agreement promoted by the International Siemens Stiftung Foundation

Tlaxcala, Tlax., May 13, 2023 (Editorial).-As part of the actions carried out by the administration of Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros, to promote the teaching and learning process in the girls, boys and young people of the entity, the Secretary of Public Education of the State (SEP) signed a letter of Adhesion of Latin America STEM Territory, with the aim that the entity be considered part of this strategy promoted and coordinated by the International Siemens Stiftung Foundation.

During the signing of the agreement held in the “Lucio Cabañas Barrientos” meeting room of SEPE-USET, the Secretary of Education, Homero Meneses Hernández, highlighted the importance of this project that is implemented within the framework of The New Mexican School, which will allow Strengthen work strategies for the improvement of Science and STEM Education, with a focus on sustainable development of the Tlaxcalan educational community.

In the presence of educational authorities, the also general director of the USET highlighted that with the accompaniment of the Civil Association Innovation in Science Education (Innovec), the strategies that have been implemented will be strengthened to continue with the collaborative work in favor of education, with the support of businessmen and municipal presidents.

The director of Innovec, Claudia Robles, recognized the support of the head of the local Executive, Lorena Cuéllar, to sign this agreement that will promote actions and projects that lead girls, boys and young people to work actively in schools with science disciplines , technology, engineering and mathematics.

The representative of the Siemens Stiftung Latin America Office, Ulrike Wahl, mentioned that this structural decision, which is added to the 46 existing in Latin America, will empower Tlaxcala to embrace the STEM education approach and move forward with this model as a transversal strategic rector, in a comprehensive development agenda for individuals, communities and territories.

The event was also attended by the director of Educational Transformation, Sergio Enrique Reséndiz Flores; virtually to Natalie Niccetto, Head of Projects at the OCE (Office for Climate Education Paris) and the coordinator of Territorio STEM Tlaxcala, Diana Isis Flores Gutiérrez, among others.
