The Secretary of Public Education (SEP), Leticia Ramírez Amaya, reported that, after the cleaning and restoration of the electrical service in the educational establishments of the municipalities of Acapulco and Coyuca de Benítez, there are possibilities of restarting classes next January .
During his participation in the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, he reported that, prior to the end of school activities for the winter vacation period, 597 schools were already working.
“It was really very gratifying to be able to accompany the students and teachers at the time of the end-of-year activities.”
He explained that, derived from the effects of Hurricane Otis, 41,101 scholarships have already been awarded to help families of Basic Education students in both municipalities.
In addition, he said, on December 14 and 15, 173 School Participatory Administration Committees were formed, through which resources from the School is Our program will be delivered for the rehabilitation of schools.
He recalled that the work is carried out in a coordinated manner with the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu) of the federal government for technical support, with the Secretariat of Welfare through the nation’s servants, and with the Secretariat of Education of the state of Guerrero.
He stressed that work continues to restore school activities as quickly and safely as possible.
