MEXICO CITY.- In an inter-institutional effort of the Government of Mexico, the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) invites mothers, fathers, tutors and the general public, as well as teachers, students and students of Basic Education, High School and Superior, to the massive Safe Return online course, which will provide strategies that help reduce the risk of SARS-Cov-2 infections among learning communities, to strengthen a safe return to face-to-face classes.
This course, which will be taught online and has no start or end date for registration, is designed to identify outbreaks and cut chains of infections; Those interested in participating may register on the page https://climss.imss.gob.mx/
Likewise, topics such as the forms of transmission and spread of the coronavirus, in addition to the identification of the symptoms of said disease, will be addressed. This effort was carried out in coordination with the Secretaries of Health and Foreign Relations; the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS); the Institute for Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) and the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI).
The course also seeks to apply strategies to provide socio-emotional support to the educational community and develop the following skills:
Analyze the forms of transmission and spread of the SARS CoV-2 coronavirus.
Identify the symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Implement specific prevention strategies in a timely manner to reduce the levels of contagion risk.
Identify suspected and confirmed cases of COVID 19 for proper monitoring and follow-up.
Apply strategies to provide socio-emotional support to the educational community.
For each educational level there is a course:
1) Basic Education: Safe Return Theme, where the organizational actions to be carried out for the safe return to schools in the face of the COVID-19 disease are presented.
2) Higher Secondary Education: Safe Return Issue, information is provided to reduce the number of SARS-CoV-2 infections among members of institutions of this educational level, as well as monitoring actions for the follow-up of cases that allow identify outbreaks and cut chains of contagion.
3) Higher Education: Safe Return Theme, members of this educational level are trained to prevent and reduce the number of infections, as well as in monitoring actions to follow up on cases.
At the end of the respective course, each with a duration of 10 hours, participants will be awarded a certificate with official recognition, with which they will be able to prove their participation in it.
In the course, available from May 21, 66,416 people already participate in Basic Education; in Higher Secondary, 21 thousand 953 and in Higher Education, 21 thousand 203 people.
