-On the 17th, a professor of pediatric anesthesia and pain medicine at Seoul National University Hospital was confirmed to have a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19). Professor Lee is known to have participated in pediatric surgery for three days, including the day he was confirmed.

According to the hospital, Professor A was tested for Corona 19 at the hospital screening clinic this morning and was confirmed at around 4:40 pm. The hospital said that it was tested after hearing the news of the family’s confirmation.

Professor A was confirmed to have participated in pediatric surgery until immediately before the examination. It was found that he visited the operating room four times on the day of the examination as well as on the 15th to 16th. Experts believe that it is possible to infect others from two days before the symptoms of Corona 19 appear. It has not been confirmed that Professor A showed symptoms of Corona 19. Seoul National University Hospital classified and tested 20 faculty members and 4 patients as contacts on this day. There were no additional confirmed cases until the afternoon of the 17th. The hospital sanitized the places Professor A visited. Additional measures, such as closing the ward, will be decided after an epidemiological investigation.
