Seoul Elementary School Teacher’s Death Investigation Summary: No Criminal Suspicion

The police investigating the death of a female teacher in her 20s in Seoicho, Seocho-gu, Seoul, concluded that there was no criminal suspicion in the case.

The police investigated 68 people, including the deceased’s family and fellow teachers, and analyzed the deceased’s tablet, work PC, and diary, and concluded that the deceased had made an extreme choice on his own.

At the same time, he explained that the results of a psychological autopsy conducted by the National Institute of Forensic Science showed that the deceased appears to have made an extreme choice due to stress arising from school work and the parental mediation process for handling school violence cases, as well as personal issues.

However, the police analyzed the cell phone of a parent who was suspected of abuse of power in connection with the so-called ‘pencil incident’ at school, and found no evidence of verbal abuse or assault, and judged that there was no criminal suspicion related to the deceased’s death. .

However, the police plans to continue investigating the case in which the teachers’ group reported the parent and the parent in question accused the netizens of defamation, separately from the conclusion of this case.

Previously, at around 11 a.m. on July 18, a female teacher in her 20s was found dead in a learning preparation room in Seoi Elementary School, raising suspicions of abuse by parents.
