The ‘Seoul Donghaeng Bus’, a customized commuter bus that helps residents of the metropolitan area on their way to work in Seoul, will start operating tomorrow (21st).
The Seoul Metropolitan Government explained that the first Seoul East Bus was designed to simultaneously solve the difficulties of commuting to work and traffic congestion for residents of the metropolitan area.
The starting point was set as Dongtan New Town in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, and Pungmu-si in Gimpo-si, considering the areas with a high commuting population in Seoul and needing a bus route to connect to other means such as the subway.

Seoul No. 01 departs from Dongtan 2 New Town in Hwaseong City three times at 7:00 am, 7:15 am, and 7:30 am and stops at Gangnam Station.
Seoul No. 02, which will play a role in easing the congestion of the Gimpo Gold Line, runs 12 times every 10 minutes from 6:30 am to 8:20 am from Homeplus in Pungmu-dong, Gimpo-si to Gimpo Airport Station.
Previously, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon said, “We will reduce the suffering of citizens in the suburbs of Seoul on their way to work” after test-riding a bus bound for Seoul on the 17th.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to deploy additional Seoul-bound buses where necessary through monitoring in the future.
