Seo Yeon-jeong set a record for winning the first championship after participating in her 260th tournament on the Korean Women’s Professional Golf KLPGA Tour.

On September 3, Seo Yeon-jeong shot a 3 under par 69 in the 3rd round of the KG Ladies Open (total prize money of 800 million won) held at Suning Point CC (par 72) located in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do. Seo Yeon-jung, who recorded a final total of 14-under 202, tied with Roh Seung-hee and kept par in the first overtime to rise to the top. The winning prize is 144 million won.

Seo Yeon-jeong, who debuted on the regular tour in 2014, put her name on the ‘Champions Club’ after her 260th knock. Up to a tie for second place at the E1 Charity Open in May of this year, five runner-ups on the regular tour were his personal best, and he became the protagonist of the record for winning the first championship after playing the most tournaments. The previous record was 237 competitions by Songi An, who reached the top at the ADT Caps Championship in November 2019.

Seo Yeon-jung, who started the final round as the sole lead, one stroke ahead of Noh Seung-hee and Hwang Yoo-min in joint second place, slowed down by writing down a double bogey on the 6th hole (par 4). After adding only four birdies, he finished the regular round in a tie for the lead with Roh Seung-hee, who reduced four strokes that day. In the first overtime at the 18th hole (par 5), Seo Yeon-jung kept the par, while Roh Seung-hee’s 2.5m par putt, which landed the fourth shot on the green, returned to the hole and Seo Yeon-jung’s victory was confirmed. Noh Seung-hee, who has yet to win a championship in 97 events, took solace in posting his personal best.

Rookie Hwang Yoo-min ranked third with a 12-under par, and Park Min-ji cut 5 strokes to raise the rankings to a tie for fourth place with a total of 11-under par. Park Min-ji added 37 points in the grand prize, beating Lee Ye-won to take first place in the grand prize point category.

In addition, Lim Jin-hee, Choi Ga-bin, Ko Ji-woo, and Choi Ye-rim finished the tournament tied for 4th place with Park Min-ji with 11-under par.
