Strong Unreal Engine 5 a Metahumans appears in a new trailer for the anticipated action-adventure Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. The video was presented today at State of Unreal as part of the GDC conference in San Francisco.
The trailer is only a minute long, but in that minute it proves that it spares no graphic details and manages very realistic animations of the main character’s face, which awaits another harsh and dark desert. From earlier materials, we can conclude that the developers from the Ninja Theory studio also pay the same care to the environment and other elements of the game world.

We in the editorial office are blown away by this quality, and one unnamed colleague (Gelu) stated that it is more realistic than reality. One thing is certain, thanks to Unreal Engine 5, the Hellblade duo can measure up to film quality, and the creators can confidently claim that they push the boundaries of facial animation.
The first Hellblade placed a strong emphasis on emotion. In the sequel, they should be even better thanks to today’s technology and possibilities. It’s just a shame that the game still doesn’t have a set release date. It is speculated about the end of this year, or the beginning of 2024. We can expect it on Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will also be part of Game Pass. We will probably learn more at the Xbox Game Showcase, which will take place on 6/11.
By the way, here’s the new Metahuman tech demo:
